Rebuilding, re-furbishing or upgrading machinery is an exacting and painstaking process. This is where our dedicated team of professionals really excel.

It starts with carefully dismantling, measuring and recording the vital information and data. Each component is thoroughly checked and faulty or sub-standard parts are replaced where necessary. With all our rebuilding projects, alignment and positioning are the keys to success. All surfaces are cut flat and parallel and in many cases, hand scraped to restore perfect alignment and positioning.

Then, after this process is complete, we begin the restoration. This is where our experience of almost 50 years in this industry really comes to the fore. Using our state of the art measuring equipment, we carefully restore your equipment to repeatability tolerances of +/- 0.000001".

A complete machine tool rebuild involves the restoring of a machine's mechanical systems to like new condition while retaining the original control and or electric system, saving up to 80% of the cost of a new machine!

If your machine has a later model CNC control and drive system but production has been beating it to death three shifts a day, seven days a week, a complete machine rebuild to BL standard specifications can return the machine to original functionality and dependability.

  • The entire machine is completely disassembled and all parts cleaned and inspected
  • All bearings and seals are replaced with new equal quality or better components
  • Hardened ways are ground flat and parallel to BL specifications
  • Machine slides are machined to accept replaceable wear strips
  • Multi-strips are provided and ground to fit.
  • These are required after ways are ground to provide proper slide and ball screw geometric alignment.
  • Scrape and fit gibs and BL standards as required
  • Rebuild or replace ball screws and nuts and replace thrust bearings
  • Rebuild spindle completely
  • Rebuild headstock including: inspection and repair/replacement of gears and shafts, replacement of all bearings and seals
  • Rebuild indexing table complete to BL specifications
  • Rebuild twin pallet changer including scraping pallets flat and repairing shuttle system.
  • Service the hydraulic system including: cleaning/inspecting; provide new filter and hoses; rebuild or replace pump and motor; flush, fill and check for leaks
  • Service the coolant system including: cleaning/inspecting; provide new filters, hoses and valves; rebuild or replace pump and motor; flush, fill and check for leaks
  • Service or replace the high pressure lubrication system including: new pump/reservoir unit, lines, manifolds and interface to CNC.
  • Service all electric motors including DC servo motors and DC spindle motor
  • Test machine completely including power cut
  • Sand, fill, prime and paint machine to customer's specifications
  • Provide final test charts specification.
